Full summary[]

Cheryl prepares for Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Jim and Andy have secret plans to go to a bowl-a-thon. Predictably, Cheryl isn't thrilled and sends Gracie and Ruby along with the men to help herself out.

At the alley, Jim not only watches his daughters but finds himself bowling quite well. Meanwhile, Cheryl and Dana work on the big meal. Dana is still unhappy about being single until she starts drinking wine and Chris and Tony arrive. Jim's game is going along perfectly, aided in part by several rituals he has enacted. Jim dreams of throwing a perfect game and getting his picture on the "wall of fame."

Soon enough, a crowd has gathered around Jim to watch history being made with every strike he throws. With just one strike to go to get a score of 300, Jim says a little prayer to God. However, just then, the alley's electricity goes kaput.

Andy returns home to tell Cheryl about how Jim is waiting at the lanes for the lights to return. Cheryl tries to convince her husband to come home for the big dinner but he refuses to give up his shot at the perfect game. Jim also refuses to send Ruby home as she is an integral part of his bowling ritual.

Cheryl then goes to the lanes, where Jim explains why the game means so much to him. Convinced, Cheryl eventually decides they all can celebrate Thanksgiving at the bowling alley. Cheryl even strings the lane with candles so that Jim has enough light to make one final throw at perfection.
