"Dino-Mite" is the 9th episode of season 6 of According to Jim, and the show's 137th episode overall. This episode was first aired on February 28, 2007.

Plot[]

Dana and Cheryl have a girls night out, entrusting their children to Ryan and Jim.

Jim uses a goat on the lawn when his mower breaks. Later, Jim and Ryan try to assist Kyle in building a dinosaur model. Meanwhile, Cheryl takes new mom Dana out for a "night off," despite the fact that Dana is worried whether Ryan will be able to safely babysit Tanner. Once the two women are gone, Andy pops out of the closet and Jim's latest plan springs quickly into action.

He wants to sneak everyone into the Museum of Natural History -- to which Cheryl has a spare key -- after hours for some fun. Ryan is unsure about joining them and bringing Tanner but ultimately he decides it's "go time." Once at the museum, the three men, three kids, and the baby creep through the dark trying to look at exhibits. Meanwhile, Cheryl and Dana booze up their sodas while at the movies.

The museum gang are greatly impressed by the Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton and Jim even sets up a photo op with Tanner sitting in the dinosaur's mouth. Then, the skeleton falls to pieces right in front of them. Immediately, Jim blames Andy for having used flash photography. Jim thinks about blaming his children before deciding that the three men must rebuild the dinosaur.

Surprisingly, after a visit to The Home Depot, the group almost gets the skeleton rebuilt, save one misplaced femur. Meanwhile, on their walk home, a tipsy Cheryl and Dana make a pit-stop at the museum. That's a problem for the men, who hear Cheryl's voice while posing for another photo with the T. rex.

Not surprisingly, the two women eventually discover Tanner, who was left in the dinosaur's mouth while everyone else went into hiding. Upon observing the results of their husbands' zany antics, they demand an explanation, leading to yet another museum-based crisis. The episode ends with the T. rex disappear with the broken and Jim says "I dropped my keys" before turn the lights off.
